It was very quiet at Wakodahatchee and Green Cay Tuesday mornng. The heavy overcast (or low fog) persisted until about 11:30. Wakodahatchee is open but pretty barren. The walks are repaired and the vegetation thinned and water dropped considerably. But alas, no birds. The whistling ducks are gone as well as the fulvous. No migrants either. We joined a band of fellow disappointed photographers and went to Green Cay and it was the same story. Just still, damp, overcast and a north wind blowing. There was one brief flurry of activity when some grackles and starlings came into the parking lot and the cluster contained 7 of these little birds.

The flock lifted away after two minutes but this one bird remained "puffed up" against the cold and sat very still for about 20 minutes.

The question: What is it?
