Swans in C2 Canal by Dadeland

I just saw them yesterday, went back today and spoke with a jogger who said they had been there for a few weeks - sometimes 4, sometimes 6. I've lived here for 24 years and never knew of swans in this area ....

Is this as rare as it seems to me?
