As Jeff said, it is no Wagtail but I had pine warblers feeding in my pines that I myself planted a number of years ago. They would fly to the gumbo limbo and the bottlebrush but kept returning to the pines and stayed for hours working each branch and digging in the needles. I witnessed more than one grub being smacked over and over on the branch before being gobbled up. I have had warblers and woodpeckers working the pines, owls roosting & hawking" from the pines and even swallow-tailed kites have swooped down just over the tops of the pines.

This just goes to show you the attraction of the natives and the surprises that will show up in your yard.

The TAS Native Plant Sale this weekend.

There is no better time to come by the Doc Thomas House to add just the right plants that will bring your favorite bird to your hammock, pineland or coastal habitat. There are also wonderful natural history books available for your reading pleasures.

There are also some nice birding opportunities on the TAS property.
