Etc.!! Great morning for birds. The Least Grebes have been joined by a Pied-billed. The little ones are left by themselves a lot of the time, but are still being fed by a parent. It's fun to watch them rush over to the parent for food. I and a pair of birders from Kendall area (Bob and sorry I forgot!) saw the Grebes do a switch from the same area I saw the nest in a couple weeks ago.

A Merlin and several A. Kestrels were actively hunting, and a Peregrine Falcon was reported overhead. The bushes were very loud with Catbirds, Brown Thrashers, Yellowthroats and Wrens (sp?) fussing continuously. I saw the tail end of a feral cat that might have been the cause of some fussing.

A cloud of warblers were present as well. We saw Nashville, N. Parula, Prairie, A. Redstarts, Yellow-throated, Palms, and tons of BG Gnatcatchers as well. I'm sure I have forgotten many others. This was my first birds-dripping-from-the-trees event of the migration.

On the way home I went west to 441 along Clint Moore and saw a soaring Short-tailed Hawk (light) and at Glades & 441 saw a Pileated Woodpecker on a snag in full view. Great trip!
