Hey Tricia. Paul Marcellini gave me a ride along Loop Rd at the beginning of October. There were dozens of large pools of water on the roadway, as well as sheet flow across some sections. Paul did fine in his jeep (and many trucks and SUV's were on the road). I wouldn't attempt the road with a car that sits very low.
I just did an additional check and evidently there was a complete closure of a large section of the road effective October 9th. Especially with the rain Thursday and into this weekend I'm sure it will stay closed. See the link below.
