Are House Finches common down here? I work on the 13th (Penthouse) floor of a building on Sunrise Blvd. This morning, I heard something hit my window. When I looked, there was a pair (male and female) of House Finches standing of the ledge about 2 feet away from me. The male had a twig in its bill, so they were looking for a place to nest. The male had the full pink on neck and head. Not sure if they are common down here, but these are the first I see in FL. I know they were all over the place in downtown Arlington, VA. Cool just the same.
