Eco pond was much too high for shorebirds, there were no ducks or other swimming birds and I can't recall any of the waders there hunting in the pond. The most interesting birds there were a couple of Painted Buntings and two Cape May Warblers, one of which was a male in full spring plumage. There are no plans to restore the flow of treated fresh wastewater to the Pond and the drastic changes of salinity from heavy summer rains after last winter s drought may have killed off much of the aquatic life that birds were feeding on.

Mrazek Pond was a different story. A brief stop on my way back north turned up an American Avocet, a Northern Shoveler, a Black-crowned Night-Heron, American Widgeons, Blue-winged Teal, Common Moorhens, Anhingas, a Belted Kingfisher, and an Eastern Phoebe.
