Two Smooth-billed Anis were seen (not by me!) near Belle Glade in Palm Beach County on Saturday, October 18th. They were seen near Torry Island. The anis were in the ditch between Slim s Fish Camp and the road to the north, immediately after you cross the bridge (within 100 feet of the bridge). You can reach Torry Island via a bridge over the rim canal (Hebert Hoover Dike). Much of the island is accessible via Torry Island Road, and at the Belle Glade Marina Campground. There are also many of the endangered Okeechobee gourds in the area, especially floating in the water.
