Eagle-eyed birder Linda reported seeing a Fulvous Whistler being eyed suspiciously by the resident Black-bellied Whistlers at Wakodahatchee yesterday (Tuesday). I went there late this afternoon, and found him again. Beautiful bird, but a bit lonely, hanging out with BW Teal on the north side of the entrance boardwalk.
Also saw a Coopers Hawk having a terrible time getting his snake dinner to cooperate. A Palm Warbler and Gray Squirrel were fascinated by his jumping and dancing around, seemingly totally unaware that they could make a faster and easier meal!
