Yesterday at 4 p.m. the chicks were swimming around on the north pond by themselves, not too far from the reeds on the left back part of the pond, but still by themselves. I didn't see the parents at first. Then it started to rain, the chicks headed for the reeds, then one parent came out with one chick and the other chick stayed in the reeds with the other parent which I could barely see but was there. Maybe that's where the new "nest" is?
