Which of these parakeets live in Miami Springs:
Crimson-fronted or Red-fronted Parakeets?
I saw one of them about a month and a half ago.
I am doubting the Red-fronted Parakeets for a couple reasons, and Pranty says they are not breeding here. The bird I saw had just a small red dot on the top of it's bill. Paul Bithorn said they were Red-fronted, but I am still not sure. Red-fronted Parakeets have a blue line along the top of their wing. The red on their head also goes along half way along the top of the head and a red line all the way across to it's eye.
They were seen near the Apache and Wren area in South Miami. I need help, because it's a confusing case. I think they are Crimson-fronted, but people say they are Red-fronted. PLEASE HELP. The result will be a lifer no matter the i.d.
