That's an awfully fresh-looking Hemaris thysbe there Danny. Excellent photo to stop the action on these extremely fast-flying diurnal moths. To answer your question with regard to distribution, go here:

Although not entirely accurate, (I've seen it in Hendry County for example), H. thysbe does make it into SW Florida on occasion. There are records for Lee County & Charlottle County. I can't find any literature records for Miami-Dade nor Monroe County but the possibility exists that it has occurred there as well, but very rarely.
