Got up at 7:00 this morning and headed out to Indian Hammocks, just a couple of blocks from home, in hopes of seeing the famous Golden-Winged Warbler. After kissing many frogs (Parula, Black-Throated Blue m-f, Redstart, Palm Warbler, Gnatcatchers) I finally got my prince and saw it. It was in the same area reported yesterday, across the road from Shelter 3 (SE part of the park) in the oak grove area. Also seen on the same tree as the warbler, a Swainson's Thrush and my FOTS Catbird. Another noteworthy bird (for me at least) was a Tennessee Warbler. My first ever for Florida (though abundant as a migrant in Nicaragua, where I used to live). An absolutely great morning for me!!!
