We spent May 21-27 visiting South Miami and Coral Gables We stayed near intersection of SW 52 ave and Matheson Hammock streets. At the county park 1 block south of the intersection in the second north royal palm in the row of Royal Palms at and to East of the small intersection of the paved road and the dirt road 1 block south of North entry of the park: a pair of piliated woodpeckers are nesting in same tree as a pair of Hill Minas. Also in same palms is a nesting pair of red bellied woodpeckers. In same vicinity saw the chimney swifts, a swallowtail kite, and can hear an Eastern screech owl a block or so to the NE at dusk. Also saw a common yellowthroat and pair of yellow winged parrots
