Ruth and I met at Matheson for some relaxed birding and had a real treat. Saw the following birds of interest:
Prairie, Black Throated Blue Male and Female, Redstart male,Parula male, yellow throated, blue gray gnatcatchers, red eyed and Philadelphia vireos, scarlet tanager, 2 veerys, catbird--all in the oak grove. A pied-billed grebe was on the pond and two black vultures were soaring over the parking lot. We were there from 9:30 to 11:30 am. As Paul Bithorn said--Life is good.
