After the walk that was rained out a little early at A.D. Barnes on Saturday, I went off to lunch at a local Persian restaurant until the rain had passed. I knew today was going to be a good birding day, and I refused to stay indoors. I went to Kendall Indian Hammocks to do some birding in the early afternoon. It was slow at first, until I met up with Andy Lance and Eva Matthews. Here's what we came up with:

Eastern Wood-pewee
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Swainson's Thrush
GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER
Northern Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Palm Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Ovenbird
Common Yellowthroat
Scarlet Tanager

Afterwards, we decided to go back to A.D. Barnes to go search for that Philadelphia Vireo. There was no vireo, but I added several more species to my day list:

Cooper's Hawk
Eastern Phoebe (FOTS, very early?)
Great Crested Flycatcher
Gray Catbird
Worm-eating Warbler

Today, I worked on an assignment early in the day so I was unable to attend the walk at Bill Baggs. However, once I finished, I decided to head off to Bill Sadowski for Philadelphia Vireo, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, buntings, and Least Flycatcher. No buntings, no grosbeaks, no flycatcher, but I did get a vireo plus a Blue-winged Warbler:

Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Eastern Wood-pewee
Eastern Kingbird (5, taking turns flying low over the canal)
White-eyed Vireo
Philadelphia Vireo (2)
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER
Northern Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Ovenbird
Common Yellowthroat
Scarlet Tanager
Baltimore Oriole (2 very beautiful males)
