While not as exciting as warblers currently in our area, a first winter White-crowned Sparrow yesterday afternoon in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP was fun. This species is a regular 1-2-day wonder in the park but usually in late October or mid-November. Of the 5 subspecies, it best fits leucophrys, which makes sense, as this subspecies breeds in the northeast.
