C. Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Black-throated Blue, and Prairie Warblers and a White-eyed Vireo adorned my backyard near FIU this morning, usually a sign that Barnes will be hopping. When I stopped by right before lunch, though, it was decent but not great. I added N. Parula, Redstart, Pine, and Black-and-White Warblers, one thrush (probably a Swainson's), two Catbirds, and one Chuck-will's-widow. Two warblers that appeared to be just entering the hammock practically hit me, one whizzing by just a couple inches from my head.
Good birding,
Susan
