This morning, at about 8:45, Christi Carmichael & I saw a Smooth-billed Ani along Richmond Drive (SW 168th St.), four to five miles west of Krome Ave. and about two tenths of a mile east of 218th Ave. (a small side road).
We first spotted the ani on the north side of Richmond Drive in an open, weedy area; the bird then flew to the south side of the road and perched in a big willow head. When we returned to the area about 45 minutes later we didn't see the bird.
We also saw a King Rail along the road about a mile west of where we saw the ani.
