Yesterday (Sunday, 9/28) and again today, there are veerys, gray-cheeked thrushes, hermit thrushes, and Swainson's thrushes in the hammock. An observer today saw them feeding on the fruits of lancewood, a native tropical tree in the hammock. There was also a Carolina wren calling. Several ruby-throated hummingbirds are in our hummingbird & butterfly garden, and lots of warblers are in and around the hammock.

If you arrive and the park gate is locked, park on the south side of the gate and walk in. All Miami-Dade County parks are open from dawn to dusk for walk-in visitors. Please leave a note if you see something unusual (besides ME!).
