Least Grebe main course, Blue-winged Warbler appetizer, 9/28

That was the menu this morning when Rock Jetty and I went up to see the Least Grebe. We were greeted by a small flock of birds just past the entrance to the trail that included a Blue-winged Warbler. Nice appetizer to the Least Grebe. The Grebe was right where it was supposed to be in the left pond about 5 minutes walking distance on the paved trail. It does spend more time underwater that on top, so maybe a mask and snorkel are a better idea than binoculars. Great bird! I hope everyone gets a chance to see it.

For dessert we had male and female Painted Buntings on the way out. I'm stuffed.
