Thanks for all your replies! Looking at the BT Green and Blackburnian, I am not convinced because on my bird I saw a very bright yellow breast (without any orange or red or black band), marked dark streaking on the sides, and an extensive and dark facial "spot". I guess individual variation could be a factor, though. I'll be out there again tomorrow looking for the bird, who probably moved out yesterday, but who knows? I'll try for a picture, too. Thanks for the link to the photo of the Townsend's from last year- it looks really really similar!
