With much apologies, here is a delayed tally of NAMC for Florida Bay. From Lake Ingraham and East Cape, arching around the chain of keys and banks over to Snake Bight, covering over 50 miles in a 13 hour count day (Monroe and Dade), Juan Valadez and I had a productive count.

With 81 species, we had 9737 individuals total (which paled in comparison to last year s nearly 22,000 individuals, half of which were Least Sandpipers we had very low numbers of Least Sandpipers this year).

Highlights included 3 Flamingos near Gibby Point (which Bob reported earlier), nearly 600 Snowy Egrets! 358 Roseate Spoonbills, 638 Red Knots, 2089 SB Dowitchers, 101 Marbled Godwits, 19 species of shorebirds in all, and a good variety of passerines including a Clay-colored Sparrow!
