We made a quick stop at Matheson on our way to Crown this afternoon. We were looking for El Jetty's Gray-cheeked Thrush and Toe's Least Flycatcher for year birds. We heard the Least by the parking lot but the bird must have been hunkered down due to the winds that had picked up. We looked for the Thrush with no luck. The only birds that seemed to have stuck around were a few Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Black-throated Blue, Northern Parula, Prairie Warbler. One of each and nothing else, those birds were gone with the wind. Toe called us minutes before we arrived to tell us that the park was quiet and that he did not find any of the birds from his morning stroll. We have to say that we found the same, nothing was around.
