This morning, I woke up really early before classes began to see the activity occurring down at the C-111E canal. The activity, although apparently slightly less than the past two days, is still going pretty strong. Migrant birds seen include:
Northern Harrier
Belted Kingfisher
Eastern Kingbird (a dozen)
Gray Kingbird (1)
Great Crested Flycatcher (several)
Alder Flycatcher (one calling bird!)
Barn Swallow (half a dozen)
Red-eyed Vireo (half a dozen)
Northern Parula (1)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (2)
Prairie Warbler (~8-10)
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart (~8-10)
Ovenbird (only 2 today)
Common Yellowthroat (~10-12)
Hooded Warbler (1)
Blue Grosbeak (~5-6+)
Baltimore Oriole (~6)
Orchard Oriole (1)
Potentially, 1 Yellow-breasted Chat, but view was too brief to verify for certain. Also, Yellow-throated Vireo was heard on the west side of the canal (I only birded the east side).
