After seeing nothing but cats at Barnes we arrived at the farm fields at the Park entrance and watched plows disking the fields. There were four killdeer at the Horned Lark site. Period.

We moved on to the annex/Lucky Hammock and saw....Jocelyn and Greg and later Steve. (Nice meeting you folks) As we were photographing with big lenses we stayed outside the hammock and tried our luck with the ground dove on the wires by the Hammock. SShort time later we went on to the Research Road and found a flock of Eastern Kingbirds mid-way down the road just before the turn to Research Road. The birds were low level, clustered on one of the dead oaks in the "controlled burn that became uncontroled" area. We were just zeroing in on the photo of the day when we were interrupted by a honking car and hollering greetings from Sonny B. So much for the photo of the day....but seeing Sonny is always a treat. But than, it would have been a great picture....oh well.
