Maybe someone can give me a few possibilities I can check out on the Online bird guide - lots of migrants passing through the neighborhood, and I heard from the lake area a 3 note call that I recognize somewhere back in the murky depths of my brain.
Three syllables like whip-por-will but the third is accented and rises, while the first two are lower and about the same. A rather low pitch, not repeated at all. Wish I could have found the bird!
Any guesses I could check out? Thanks!
