Roger's right about our exploding populations of exotic lizards proving beneficial to our resident shrikes. This wasn't always so. Just a couple of years ago, I had an emaciated Loggerhead Shrike approach my car at the corner of LeJeune and Flagler and ask if I had any lizards to spare. I felt so bad for him, I had to give up Freddy, the resident gecko in my glove compartment. A month later I got a letter from GEICO cancelling my insurance!
