I do not know of any ground doves in that area. A good place to find them is in Bill Baggs State Recreation Area. In the morning, try to walk along the eastern end of the park, where the sandy dunes are. Check around there. They can also be in the area called Lucky Hammock, near the Everglades National Park enterance. I would not be surprised to see them near you in Matheson Hammock. As for organizing the lifelist: There are many ways to create a lifelist. There are complete booklets where you can check off the birds you saw, or use lifelists online. You can order programs, too. I use a simple, sturdy notebook. I have many lists in it. I have my A.B.A list, exotic list, Florida list, New York list, North Carolina, Arizona, and many others. Of course I have been to all of those states.
When looking for the doves, they have a soft "who, who, who...", about one second apart from eachother. Also, if you don't have White-eyed Parakeets yet, there is a small flock in Morningside I discovered this morning.
