Since you are going to the Keys & Everglades, you are going in the right direction to see the Lark.
After you leave the airport, head South on the Palmetto Expressway (826) and get on the Turnpike extension (Toll Road) and head south to Homestead-Fla. Keys. This road ends and puts you on US 1 in Florida City.
AS soon as you get on US 1, turn right at the 1st traffic light (US 1 and Palm Drive/SW 344 St). Head west thru Florida City, past ROBERT IS HERE Fruit Stand, and keep going straight until you get to SW 217 AVE (about 6 miles from US 1). Turn Left on SW 217 Ave and go about 4 miles until you come to a dirt road, SW 384 St.(yes, it has a street sign) and turn right. Go about 500 yds. until you come upon 2 small orange marker-flags on your left just off the road. Look for the Lark on your left, or around that area. There are other birds worth noting in the area.
