Today I went shopping at one of the local Publix stores (441 & Glades) and finally got a decent visual of a bird I have heard making calls there for at least 2 weeks. The call belonged to an Eastern Phoebe, and before I had only seen one, but today I saw two. The bird visually matched the Phoebe, except the one I saw had a very long bill, but it could have just seemed that way from the high angle.
I am still a novice birder, so maybe this is not news, but I thought I would share it anyways...
Are Eastern Phoebe year round residents? The information I found online said that they normally migrate in Sept. through Oct.
Also, are parking lots a usual hang out for them?
