Did the touristy airboat thing today off of Tamiami, after Cooperland. Water levels are high per the driver but we actually got stuck in the middle of the sawgrass for half an hour until help arrived! Birds seen:
Boat Tailed Grackles all over the place (I started to remember that they are truly marsh birds and not suburban/urban birds)
Anhinga (swimming underwater next to the boat, the tourists with me were very impressed by the bird - one even said: "It looks like a turkey" To which I said, "It is also called Water Turkey"
Snail Kite (life bird believe it or not) Perched on a bush and got very good looks
Great Crested Flycatcher
Green Heron
Tricolored Heron
Great Egret
White-Eyed Vireo (many)
American Crows at a distance attacking an unknown hawk
White Ibis
