Please keep checking this out?? I have birded with Jay when he was a grade schooler in Longmeadow, Ma. He has been an avid birding for years. I wish I could take credit, but his Mom was a great birder. Those of us in So. Florida that led ABA trips last year remember Ted Floyd ( Jay has been a partner of his in the World Series of birding).
I do have a favorite Jay Story. After he graduated from Yale, Jay went on as an Ornithology student at the University of Arkansas. He bird avidly while there, only to post his ABA annual list to find himself 6 birds behind John Hutchison of Massachusetts. It seems I had inadvertantly posted an impessive annual Arizona list(3 trips)to the wrong state abbreviation.Dislexia does have its rewards and embarrassments.
I hope the Kelp guy is located!!! Good birding Jay.
