The little u.f.o. was the same size as a hummingbird and hovered for just a second at my hibiscus bush, but then it flew off out of site.
The wing beats were very fast so I could not see any discernible patterns or colors other then blackish on the wings, and brownish on the stomach area.
Now that I have seen some photos of the sphinx moth, it definitely could have been it. Whatever it was, it gave me a bit of a start!
