Last year in December and then again in February I saw a adult Bald Eagle while sitting at the light of US-27 and Pines. In December, the Eagle was seen on the west side of US-27. In Feb, I observed the Eagle again and pointed it out to my co-worker that was with me. We watched the Eagle fly low over the pines and land on the top of one. I wondered could there be a nest? With my binos I was able to clearly see what seemed to be a dark object in the tree. I could not make out branches or nesting material but it was the perfect size. We have seen Eagle nest before and this one reminded me of the ones we have seen in the past. I did not think much of it until you posted about the nest several months ago. Good find! I have seen some other possible nest in WCA while working not too far from Everglades Holiday Park. I have not seen any Eagles checking out the nests or flying around them while inside of WCA. I am not working in that area this field season but I will keep an eye out next time I am in the area.
