Cutler Wetlands: rain rain go away

Well, just when Cutler Wetlands started looking good for shorebirds, here comes the rain to mess it up. You can kisss shorebirds goodbye at this spot if water levels go back up. Late yesterday, there were only a few shorebirds, but the conditions were looking good. There were 3-4 each Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, two Short-billed Dowitchers and 1 Least Sandpiper. A nice treat were 3 Least Bitterns. Also saw 3 Bronzed Cowbirds on the wires at the north edge. At least there's always the sod farms up north.
