I can also vouch for the fact the chickadee was there this a.m.. Yesterday, several of us were there and I was the only one that missed it but today I lucked out! I arrived just before 0700 and parked in the same area, the east end of the ballparks. The construction machinery had already started, but luckily the Carolina Chickadee's call definitely stood out being quite different from other common birds. I followed the call to the edge of the oak hammock just east of the parking area. This is the same area the Townsend warbler was seen last season. The bird was high and initially difficult to spot as it seemed to stay still. I was able to follow it for about 10 minutes as it flitted from the tops of the Oak trees. I lost sight of it in the same area it has previously been spotted, across the street on the north side of the road not far from Frisbee Golf(or whatever that game is called) NO. 18.
