John Boyd, Tom Friedel, Bonnie Ponwith, Angel and Mariel Abreu joined me as we looked for pelagics and tried to avoid all the thunderstorms out there. We started off at Fowey as usual and for the second trip in a row, no Brown Booby in the morning. We proceeded to deep water and like the last two trips found almost nothing until we got out past 700-800 ft of water. Best bird was a Sooty Shearwater that came to whithin 100 feet of our boat. We tried to chase it to get closer, but it was flying into the wind and at this point the seas were 3-5 ft., which made it very hard to gain on him. Still, we stayed with it for a minute or two. We set up a chum slick and had a Band-rumped Storm-Petrel for a short time feeding. At noon, we stopped at Fowey on our way in and spotted a single Brown Booby. Our trip list is below. Thanks to our crew today for a very enjoyable trip.
