Gray Kingbird

More babies!! This is a nest of Gray Kingbirds about 12' off the ground...or should I say... about 16' over the water! It's in a tree by the shore, with this branch sticking over the water. Both parents are doing a good job of guarding the nest, so I had to be quick and unobtrusive when taking these shots.

Since this nest is on the property where I work, I can trim the tree and save the nest if there is a place at the Doc Thomas House to display them for educational purposes. I already have a Cardinal nest and can get a Mockingbird nest, but only if there is a need. I get my nests by trimming the tree so they are undisturbed.

Please let me know if the Audubon Society would like a few nests to display at our meeting place.
