After entering Loxahatchee and passing the toll booth (rarely manned) make your first left turn. It is a dirt road and goes to the south. Park by the large chickee and walk south on the dike (berm) dirt road-trail. After passing the first junction which is a road to the WEST keep going south until you see a substantial cypress head. Look for the trampled grass on your right side. Stop there and look due west. Wait patiently. If you see a wooden boardwalk to your right you have gone too far. But....there is a nice blind in there the kids might enjoy.
Bring tons of cold water and sweat cloths...you will "pay the price" for this viewing. Also "no-see-ums" are out in good numbers. The walk to the site is about 1000 yards.
Ignore the bragging of the Audubon-photographers ( they are indeed a boastful group )but do look at their pictures if they offer a view. The pictures aren't bad.
If you bring extra cold water you might trade for a memory chip from their cameras.
