I talked to a friend of mine that runs a charter fishing boat off Miami. He told me he had two Tropicbirds in about 300 ft of water on a day with a strong east wind, probably Friday. He doesn't know enough to tell them apart, but they were adults from his description of the long, single tail. Pretty exciting stuff. Maybe we're having a good tropicbird year. With these two, that's 5 tropicbirds seen in the Miami area in the last two months, and we've had a total of one pelagic trip, one seen over Rickenbacker Causeway, one taken to rehab, and two by a charter captain. "We're gonna need a bigger boat!"
