They are kind of a tough bird to find here. I found two last month on a little area called "Flynns", noted for it's wintering flycatchers. Flynn's is a small road just before the Everglades National Park "Florida City Enterance". When you turn onto Flynn's, look aroung the houses for these large woodpeckers. They have a flash of yellow on their wing as they fly. For better information on Flynn's, check the T.A.S. Bird Location. Hope it helps.
