I looked for Bob Showlers Black-bellied Whistling Ducks at Eco pond on Tuesday with no success. There were Black-necked Stilts and White-crowned Pigeons present but not much else. There are many fruiting Strangler Figs in the Flamingo area, the White-crowned Pigeons have them staked out.
I went by the Homestead/Miami Speedway and found 15-Black-bellied Whistling Ducks. The ducks were on the south side of s.w. 328 st. and east of s.w. 137 ave. On s.w. 328 st. there is a tree farm called Algers, drive east on s.w. 328 st. until you don't see any more planted trees. Look for a cable across a dirt road on the south side of s.w. 328 st. The birds were down this road about 200-300 feet. Yesterday and today the birds were still present along with a Semipalmated Sandpiper and a Least Sandpiper.
