There were alot of birders in Barnes looking for a special 5 1/2 inch warbler, the Bay-breasted, and some for the Blackburnian Warbler. No luck. Redstarts were everywhere, aswell as Black-throated Blues, Parulas, Blackpolls, and Black-and-whites. Obviously the La Sagra's has moved on. No sign of thrushes there, or the Summer Tanager I wanted to see.

As for Kendall Indian Hammocks T.A.S. trip, which I did not attend, I believe were 6 warblers: Ovenbird and that darn Worm-eating, Black-throated Blue and others.

At the T.A.S. meeting at the Doc Thomas house:

Three Hill Mynas
Red-phase Screech Owl whick I saw
Many Redstarts
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
No Worm-eating Warblers
HERMIT THRUSH- I was told it was an Ovenbird. I knew it was not. According to Pranty, they are still around, and almost all gone soon. As like the ovenbird, they DO "pump" their tail, and raise their crest. I saw him only, with no witnesses to back my identification, once again. As for the call, the Ovenbird gives a hick-pitched "sick", and what I heard was the thrush's "Chuck". 3rd ever Hermit Thrush.
