This morning, while paddling a canoe around Palm Key (about 3 miles southeast of Flamingo, in Florida Bay), I heard a Clapper Rail call from the island's interior. A little later on I saw another Clapper Rail along the island' mangrove shoreline.

I also saw 2 Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks at Eco Pond. They were hanging out with several Black-necked Stilts toward the back of the pond.
