Although overall warbler numbers were small at Matheson today, we had good diversity and ended up with 9 warbler species: Parula, Cape May, BT Blue, Blackpoll, Black-and-white, Redstart, Worm-eating, Ovenbird (heard only), and Common Yellowthroat.
We also saw several exotics, including Yellow-chevroned and Red-masked Parakeets, Blue-and-yellow Macaws, White-fronted Amazons, and Hill Mynas.
A total of roughly a dozen White-crowned Pigeons were also seen and a Screech-Owl vocalized in response to Paul Bithorn's owl call.
After the walk, several of us went to A.D. Barnes park in search of more warblers. We added Magnolia, Bay-breasted (a male has been present since Wed.) and N. Waterthrush. A Blackburnian was seen before we arrived, as was a singing Summer Tanager. Overall warbler numbers were substantially higher at Barnes.
