Last Push of Migration

It seems there has been a small push of late migrants moving through Miami. A few days prior, it was tough to get more than a redstart. Yesterday at the beach, I watched several warblers fly in from the Atlantic on several occasions. Looked like redstarts, yellowthroats, and a waterthrush. And last night I was able to hear blackpolls, redstarts, and yellowthroats. At least thirty birds in an hour and a half. I arrived home to a screech owl that is nearly always near the lightpole.

A herping trip to Everglades National Park produced a few Barred Owls, many Chuck-will's-Widows (including two fledglings in the middle of the road), and Common Nighthawks.
