The last few weeks I've been hearing this strange sound at night. It sounded kind of like a lawn sprinkler when it's in the spray return phase, except it was random instead of a patterned sound of a rotating sprinkler. Last night I was out on my porch when I saw a shadow fly into the low branches of my hurricane deformed oak tree. Hee hee the screech owls that live in my yard were out bugging. Then I hear the noise and see one of the screech owls fly over to another branch and realized it was a hungry baby owl making his feed me noise XD. I took some pictures a few years back to go with a poem I wrote about them, so, gulp, for those of you who like pictures and poetry, I'll put a link and hope there aren't too many long sighs and rolling eyes.
