I've been dreaming up some stuff about the park after going to their planning meeting Wednesday. So I spent some time there today looking around and seeing the what's and where's of the park. Met up with some birders there to see the Connecticut warbler, one all the way down from North Dakota. Unfortunately it kept well hidden and everyone came up empty. The first few times through the area south of the nature center I didn't see much but blue jays and cardinals. But after a few times through with different people, a smattering of warblers appeared, mostly redstarts, but also saw a magnolia and blackpolls. I also saw a few hawks I couldn't identify, and some scarlet teenagers, who were red due to me walking up on them whilst they were doing something they'd have rather kept more private XD. Anyway it was a good day with a lot of input about what should happen to the park. The next meeting they have I'll most likely have something to input. By the way I think I may have a solution for the feral cats that everyone will be able to live with. We'll be able to talk about it tomorrow while we count the birds.
