After the drought for the last NAMC, the water's back at the NE corner of Taylor WMA (off Krome just S. of Okeechobee), and so was a hunting female Snail Kite at sunrise. Two Least Bitterns called, and Tree Swallows and one Mottled Duck were overhead. Wader numbers were still way down from historic numbers at this location, though.

I dropped one and added two Doral sites to my itinerary (thanks to past posters). The new Burrowing Owl site at Bermudez Park (old Miami West) continues to have owls, and the fenced area is substantially larger than it was last year (yay!). In 3 hours of birding I didn't find any migrant warblers . . . but maybe things will pick up again by next Saturday.

Good birding,
Susan
